If I A Lonely Pebble Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

If I A Lonely Pebble

Rating: 5.0

If I a lonely pebble
That did rest upon the shore,
Then all my dreams would be fulfilled
I'd never yearn for more,
For there beside the water's edge
So peaceful it would be,
The sun and sand, the gentle breeze
That blew across the sea.

If I a lonely pebble
That did rest upon the shore,
I'd watch the waves from dawn till dusk
And hear the ocean roar,
I'd have no cause to wander far
Away I would not roam,
I'd make that place forever mine
A place I'd call my home.

You have a great way of making the reader want to read to the end. I like all your poems that Ive read so far. All have a hypnotic rhythm that takes you on a journey into the essence of the poem. Enjoy them very much.
