If I Didn't Have To Defend The One I Impersonate... Poem by Chuy Amante

If I Didn't Have To Defend The One I Impersonate...

what if I just dropped that ME that stands out,
the funny guys who has opinions, sandals and sprouts

if the ME wasn't there to give you rub
just a teddy bear, there with the hugs

what if you dropped that actress you are faking,
got out of the kitchen and abandoned the baking?

where would that leave us the two without burrs
playing as kids in mountains, in wind that whirs

swirling, jesting, screwing and more
eternal playmates upward we soar
