If I Died

If I Died
by Alex Lewis

If I died it would cost less,
And I could not leave a mess.
It would be easier if I died.
To kill myself, I have tried.
It would really be a lie
To say I do not want to die.
Let me help your life with my death.
Let you take all of my breath.
But, Devil nor Death will let me be:
I'm stuck with you, you're stuck with me.

poet Rupert Brooke

That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
