If I Had Just One Wish

if God would grant me one wish
and i knew it would come true
i would wish that i could be
in meetin' again with you
i'd like to hear you preach
or even to testify
to kneel right down beside you
as to God you made your cry
I'D like to see you smile
as the choir began to sing
id like to hear you shout
the praise of Christ your king
sadly on earth this wish
can never again come true
but God has promised me that
one day i can go to you
then we will have meetin'
like we never have before
what a glorious meetin'
in the presence of the Lord

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.
