If It Be Thy Will? Poem by Luke Easter

If It Be Thy Will?

I am above and not beneath,
Yes, the head and not the tail,
Surrounded by the mercies of God,
Like Jonah enclosed within the whale.

Deuteronomy 28: 1-14 are the blessings of the above verse,
Whereas Deuteronomy 28: 15-68, are examples of the curse,
Notice how these blessings, although short they are strong,
While the curses which are many are several times as long.

Speaking of Jonah be careful who you let on your boat,
Okay, there is no such thing as "if" when seeking hope,
You'll be throwing over precious cargo you can't afford,
And all because of shipmates who doubted the Lord.

Those who constantly ask God, "if it be Thy will? "
The situation for starting the request, they're in it still,
Use that word when praying you're already in defeat,
It is like doubting if pure honey will always be sweet.

Yes! It's God's decision to bless with mercy and grace,
But, do not admit to standing in such a negative place,
Throughout the bible as long as you obey and serve,
The Lord will not turn around and throw you a curve.

Here's an example from Matthew 8: 2-3 to show what I mean,
A leper asked, "Lord if thou will, thou can make me clean, "
Jesus didn't say no or maybe but touched him saying, "I will, "
And yet over 2,000 years later Christians are wondering still.

Have faith in God when casting your mountain into the sea,
Mark 11: 22-26, you'll have whatsoever you say and believe,
Asking "if"' is like begging which means your faith is weak,
And any, unforgivness means the future will always be bleak.

Pray earnestly with the intention it's already been received,
Using "if" only means this might not be a transferred deed,
Walk in your sonship faithfulness of God's scriptural word,
Not the negative of mankind usually accepted when heard.

We must look past the pain and far beyond the hurt,
Bills are climbing, your hours are cut back at work,
Multiply God over all sickness, illness and disease,
The truth of His word is what will set mankind free.

There is no problem greater than the love of Christ,
The blood has already been shed from His sacrifice,
Why have people asking "if" after giving your life?
Dying for something means there is no higher price.

Did not Jesus say "if" when asking for this cup to pass?
Certainly Christ did however, wait a minute not so fast,
This was done for a one-time blood sacrifice very true,
Thanks to our Savior it's not something we have to do.

No matter how I try I'm never going to do everything right,
But neither do I have any bulls, lambs or goats to sacrifice,
Hey and even if I did I would have to do it every single year,
Since Christ did it once for all should make it perfectly clear.

Jesus said, "If thou canst believe" is the start of Mark 9: 23,
It certainly does not mean maybe or you just might receive,
Now look at verse 22 before, " but if thou canst do anything? "
In 23, "Lord I believe, help my unbelief" what his cry did sing.

There is a doubt whether or not you'll receive the gift,
When going before the Lord and you're begging, "if, "
That's why losers call it luck while winners call it skill,
Victory never goes to God asking, "If It Be Thy Will? "
