If Only For This While Poem by Holly Jamestone

If Only For This While

Where do they go when they leave us
Are they truly gone
Do they watch our every move
As we carry on

Is there truly heaven
A beach without a tide
A hairdo that is never mussed
Unending joy inside

Is heaven simply memories
Of when they cracked a smile
Or painted love into our hearts
If only for this while

IF ONLY FOR THIS WHILE

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Too many deaths in a short amount of time. A very humbling, in-your-face reminder of our mortality.
