If Wisdom Grew Upon A Tree Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

If Wisdom Grew Upon A Tree

Rating: 5.0

If wisdom grew upon a tree
And blossomed every spring,
Then we could learn the song of peace
That everyone could sing.

If we could rest beneath its boughs
And sleep within its shade,
And shelter from the falling rain
Then dreams would never fade.

If it could teach us how to live
All hate would pass away,
And kindness rise just like the sun
That greets the dawning day.

If autumn never came
And summer shone throughout the year,
Its leaves would never fall
And all the pain would disappear.

If wisdom grew upon a tree
And fruit of love it bore,
Then we could learn the song of peace
And turn away from war.

A wonderful and inspiring poem! It made me think if wisdom grew upon a tree we could pick it like fruit, eat it and become wise! Alas, that is not the way of wisdom in life, we have to go through suffering and turmoil in order to experience the way to true wisdom. Your imagery and rhythm is excellent! Enjoyed this poem very much. If only we could see our way to peace, having no more war, hatred, intolerance, racism in our world! It would be like heaven then. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

Wisdom is well reflected in this beautiful poem! Such a tree can't be seen in the West but only in the East, my friend!
