If You Poem by Connie Tallada

If You

I may not speak but I can feel
Unspoken pain that makes me ill
Wounds and tears may be gone unseen
I may wear an smile end to end
But if you just stop and look into my eyes
Then you'll see how the old me dies

Laughter's may bail my suffering
But it cannot hide my true feeling
The world may not hear me cry
Days may gone with unnoticed sigh
But if you just take time to bother
Then you'll see that I am a prisoner

I may fake a beautiful smiley face
Stitches may vanish without a trace
My lips may shout with happiness
I may dance in the beat of breeze
But if you just care and try to listen
Then you'll see what misery I've been
