If You Ask Me About Home Poem by Janette Ber

If You Ask Me About Home

Unique scent of the flowers and the earth
unique one bird singing about loneliness
this one star you can only see from this place
this words in your heart,
some familiar face.

The unique sound of the sea, a whisper of wind
This little cat saying you: let me in!
Golden sun, silence, quiet fields
and the old man asking you
how you feel?

This music that you've heard a million times there
This way, you walked, not knowing where
If you ask me about the home, I will answer you
Home is the memory of smells and views
