If You'Ll Happen To Remember Me Poem by Sebenzile Mamba

If You'Ll Happen To Remember Me

At times i wonder
At times i deceive myself
At times i question myself
Question myself without an answer
An answer about
If you'll happen to remember me

Heaven and earth you promised me
Promised me you'll never leave me
Promised me the moon and the stars
Stars faded, Season Changed
The moon was seen no more along with you
All of a sudden i was left in the dark
The dark of if ever you'll happen to remember me

You faded like bubbles in thin air
You shaded my heart with pain
Your memories in my heart were like a fairy tale
A fairy tale on repeat day and night
Day and night wondering
If you'll happen to remember me

First month i kept on wearing your favourite Tees
First year i kept on re-reading our past texts
Our past texts about the future and more
First decade i decided to throw all your stuff away
i decided to delete our past texts
Because i realized that i was on drips
i was more like eating through pipes
With the frustration you left me
My strengh was vanishing slowly daily
Daily i wondered if you'll happen to remember me

Decades has passed without you
But the wounds get fresher each an everyday
My mind and heart is infested with a deadly disease
A disease that only you can cure
I tried to delete you from my heart
It responded with a system error report
Since the file is too big
Now i have realized that
You were one in a million and
I hope one day you'll remember me
