If You Love A Girl

If you love a girl
You are to set her free
Not matter how much it hurts
Not matter how hard you want to hold on
Good things cannot be forced
Good things cannot be planned
Despite how right it may feel
Despite what a perfect fit she is
And if you truly love her
And you truly want her to be happy
You are to let go of her
And set her free into the wild

If you love a girl
You are to fight for her
No matter how hard it is
No matter how slim your chances could be
Good things are worth fighting for
Good things are worth saving
Despite the countless times you fail
Despite things not looking so pretty
And if you truly love her
And you truly want to be together
You are to show her how important she is to you
And fight for her and you both

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.
