If You Love Me Poem by Lora Colon

If You Love Me

Rating: 4.4

If you love me, it brings no joy,
But the tears come easily.....
Cascading waves leaving my eyes
For shores of uncertainty

If you love me, why must I ask
'O, do you love me, my dear? '
Why do these words ride restless winds,
And answers never appear?

If you love me, where is my smile?
It hides in obscurity,
No revelling in Spring's first rose,
Nor the robin's melody

If you love me, why does the moon
Cover her face with a veil.....
Can she not bear to see your love
Looking so fatigued and frail?

If you love me, my heart deceives,
Empty it feels, night and day,
I asked for but a flower of love....
No demands for the bouquet

If you love me, can you explain
Why these thoughts come to my mind?
Your love can't find its way to me....
In your heart, it stays confined

Love is so simpple and pure it does not have any greed for any foreign material, it needs to be reciprocated with pure love only. But alas, that also we don't get in return.... very nicely written Lora... just loved it.
