I can't help but believing
that someday
You'll understand that when I walked away
I never really walked away

I carried you in my pocket
with my heart
Knowing that one of these days
we wouldn't have to be apart

You'd see me on the street,
look down, smile at me and see...
You'd see you in my eyes
and you would know it had to be...

I hope I get the chance to tell you
someday
Why I had to walk away
And that I never really walked away...

I left a piece of me
there for you
I knew she'd be better
Nothing left for me to do
