Illusions Poem by Suresh Dogra

Illusions

We are drowning
Clutching at straws
Drifting downstream
We have come thus far
What is in store
We can't see
But before the last bell
We'll have had enough of life
Tossed all around by waves
Propped up by illusions
Reality tried to weigh us down
But we were buoyed up by dreams
And kept afloat amid whirls
Fear of the end doesn't bother us
We dream of waking up to eternal life
In Heaven
Even if it is a self-induced beatific vision

Reality can get us down, but we do have our hopes and dreams as you say. Even death cannot deter us from our dreams of eternal life. Very good expression of life. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
