Illusions Of Happiness Poem by Jennifer Woodland

Illusions Of Happiness

What do you do when you’re all alone
Sitting, staring at a blank screen
Wanting, wishing, hoping
That someone will call
Someone will stop by.
You are surrounded by people
But not the one you want
So you fade away and shut everyone out
They never call, never come by
You are made out to look like a fool
They don’t care, they have stuff to do
But you wait for them
Cause with them you smiled
Smiled a true smile it wasn’t a picture
It was real life
That is why you’re still alone
Sitting in your room
Wanting, wishing, hoping
Not doing, not laughing, not truly happy
You see the people smiling
And you don’t move in case they call
But they won’t and you know it
Then why won’t you accept it
Why are you still hanging on to that hope
Cause you were happy and you loved it.
