Imaginary Friends Poem by Curtis Litton

Imaginary Friends

At first my only possession
was that of a pit of emptiness
sewn into me long before
you were just a memory

Remembering all the times we shared
when seemingly I thouhgt nobody else cared
it was me an you
time after time
from the good and bad
to the wet and cold
as long as i had you i would never grow old

Looking back over the years
with all the trips we took
while writing a half dead legacy
in an unwritten book

Now on my last rope
where have you gone?
What were your intentions?
What have i become?
Reminiscing in your bitter sweet bliss
while sitting and waiting
for my last kiss
