Imagination Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Imagination

A toy car for his birthday -
That fancy gift with battery,
And at age four, I must say
He had his mother's curiosity.

For a whole day it ran around
And held his short-lived attention,
He was intrigued by the motor sound,
Blinking lights from that contraption.

After the laundry had been done
I noticed foreboding quiet reign
I checked, quite alarmed, on my little man
There he has torn apart his toy... again.

Perhaps like any ordinary mother
I would let anger take the better me
But my son made me smile with his answer
'Mom, the tiny driver I wanted to see.'
