Imagination Poem by Custous Angelus

Imagination

Imagination is a queer being
or rather it is a wonderful land
full of impossibles and unfathomables
I can fly through the blue sky
talking with the residence of the skies
listening to the secret whispers of the wind
flirting with the maidens of South wind
greeting traveling lads of West wind
exchanging news with East wind
picking a fight with North Wind
or I can swim through the depths of the Ocean
enjoying a feast in Poseidon's palace
visiting cousins of Atlantis
lecturing Davy Johnes
greeting exotic creatures
or I can walk the welcoming body of mother Earth
asking birds what wonder do they bring
visiting the guardian of forest
welcoming Lady Spring to her home
playing the cheerful girl Summer
debating with the poetic lad of Autumn
exchanging drinks with Uncle Winter
or maybe I can take a completely turn
I can drown myself in sea of books
becoming a lovesick young man
who would do anything for a girl he loves
becoming a young soldier
shaking in fear of the battle that would soon come
becoming a fairy
welcoming Spring to her home
becoming a Wizard
controlling the stars, moon, and the clouds
or I can take another turn and become more humble
I can be a bard
travelling across different countries
singing songs and entertaining people
enjoying a hearty meal all while surrounded by people
or I can be a merchant
travelling thousands of miles to land unknown
trading with people I do not know
giving goods that I do not know
or I can take yet another turn and makes things dark
bringing out the deepest sorrows
experiencing the aftermath of a war
watching the loved ones dying
hearing the desperate cries of people
crying as my hope shatters right in front of me
The imagination is where I leave and where my kingdom is
And there is where I belong
But in reality I am a wizard without magic
angel without wings
king without kingdom
lover without lover
soldier without country
bard without audience
