Immortal Love Poem by Leah Ayliffe

Immortal Love

Rating: 2.5

Magic winds whisper through irrational seas.
The tragedy of love breaking voices too dead to speak.
Alive in vision,
But overruled by the loss of heart, an uncontrollable urge runs through her veins for eternity.

His face will never disappear from her eyes, her thoughts.
Never again will she be filled with peace.

As their different worlds destroy in chains their unconditional love
The wars will never completely end their hearts;
For their hearts have been connected,
Have been sewn together with a thread so strong no sword could break its string.

In mind, thought, spirit and soul,
They live a free dream in a world they built with their love.
But
The agony of forsaken love in this life will break her down in a slow death.

His eyes that once comforted her now bring grief.
To feel his arms caress her one last time would let her have a moment's rest of the emptiness that carries throughout her hollow body.

Time slows as they pass each other on the crowded streets.
A second of hope, they silently stare
Drawn by an electric magnetism strong.
Time returns and she can still feel the warmth of his breath run down her neck.

All the unspoken words that will never be said.
All the longings that will never be seen too.
Though they are unfaithful in the human state,
Their love remains in their own world of once upon a memory that will not be lost nor forgotten.
Because it is the deepest depths of our souls
Where there lives the strength of immortal love.

Your 'Immortal Love' already seems immortal to me! Very well written! The whispers, the sighs, the soliloquy, all come from one and the same place, the heart! 'His eyes that once comforted her now bring grief.' - So sad! The sufferers only know how overwhelming this grief can be! 'Time slows as they pass each other on the crowded streets. A second of hope, they silently stare Drawn by an electric magnetism strong. Time returns and she can still feel the warmth of his breath run down her neck.' - This is so beautifully said, so poetic! 'Because it is the deepest depths of our souls Where there lives the strength of immortal love.' - These two lines are absolute gem, priceless! This was your first poem posted to this site, and the best one among the ones that I have read so far. Looking forward to have a look at some more of your works.
