Immortal Soldier Poem by Christal Carpenter

Immortal Soldier

Rating: 0.5

HALT-listen when I speak
fear me, trust me
place your life in my hands
honor me, respect me
salute when I pass
hate me, despise me
and I won't care
you are nothing to me
I am an immortal soldier

HALT-listen when I speak
I fought, I won
my scars are many
I shot, I killed
the dreams still come
hate me, despise me
and I won't care
you are nothing to me
I am an immortal soldier

HALT-listen when I speak
I loved, so love me
I still can feel
I forgave, so forgive me
a sorry is all you need
I hated, so hate me
but I won't care
you are nothing to me
I am an immortal soldier
and no one will see my tears

I like this alot enemies fear a soldier, civilians trust honor respect, fellow soldiers salute. I like it. I don't understand the immortal concept. But like the last person who commented said, this poem can be interpreted in many different ways.
