Immortality For Any Human Being Poem by Francis Duggan

Immortality For Any Human Being

Rating: 5.0

Immortality for any human being is surely a lie
The longer we live the sooner we die
There is a last night and last day for us all
To the scythe of the Reaper we eventually must fall
To the father of time we eventually must bow
Just like the dog, bird or the sheep or the cow
Of a life hereafter your guess is as good as mine
And what you think is your business and that suits me fine
The life journey for us one day has to end
The Reaper of lives does treat none as a friend
Nature is the only immortal of which I do know
And like Nature's Seasons we come to life and from go
Immortality for any human being is just not true
Our one certainty in life is that death is our due.
