On life's journey I take my steps
Thinking of where I am going
Taking a left then a right
My weariness is growing
I hear the waves a crashing
As I walk along the shore
Feeling sand under my feet
Each step becomes a chore
Looking at passing clouds
Watching them move about
My legs are getting heavy
With pain, I want to shout
Just before I give up
I feel a presence near
Noticing footprints next to mine
It's Jesus, He's here
I continue on my journey
Leaving my footprints behind
His feet does leave impressions
A blink of an eye before mine
My stride is getting stronger
My purpose is becoming clear
Jesus says to rest now
And lay all burdens here
