In Any Other World Poem by Shijo Jose

In Any Other World

I lost myself,
But my mind soared.
Looking back at the earth,
I realised that i was so small..
Noticing the world around me,
We seemed a wonderful community.
But it was not to be.
Each served their own purpose.

Up above,
I saw stars.
So far apart,
Yet shining jointly..
Essential parts of the night,
Making glitter in the skies.

Down below,
I saw lights.
So close together,
Yet shining discretely..
Different parts of city lights,
Like blurry little fireflies.

Arose from sleep,
But my mind soared.
Looking back into my dream,
I realised that i was so small..
Noticing the world around me,
We were a difficult disunity.
And it was only me.
With the world to oppose.
