In Between
by Rema Prasanna

From the deep blue ocean,
it emerged like an oyster
Holding one precious pearl,
you smiled from your heart
Like the magic wand angels carry
Hopes blossomed there precisely,
morning fog covered tears
autumn dried its colors there and
offered not the next spring
Years you not hold in hand,
only precious seconds
On sand spread shore sun set!
too early a farewell
Mountains capture sunshine,
rivers reflect, earth rolls
leaving many behind,
tears rolled on sand
Tears rolled on sand,
your petite heart puzzled,
knowing not the cause
you smiled.............
from your terminally ailing life

The transience of life, of time, and the relentlessness of it all too, with a quiet acceptance. A beautiful poem!
