In Between Poem by John kago

In Between

I am gray, in between black and white of dear society.
Its not with heavy heart,
for sweet mother's sweat and tears fight to give me all she never had
thus back home they envy, wish of similar chance
at school they jest, wonder why chance was given to such.
surely you ask which side i cherish
none. for I am butter in between two bland slices
that makes them take every bite with relish.
