When I see what you wrote,
So many things I want to say come into my head.
They all get stuck in my throat
And I stay quiet instead.

I read your post,
and am speechless.
I am shocked at most
When I realize the significance of your new address.

I will try to write,
But there are so many things to say.
You have gone off to fight,
And I am left with too many emotions and words
That one letter can’t display.

Life takes people in so many different directions,
And people go their separate ways.
Some walk onto the sands of our lives and leave impressions.
Others just disappear into the past’s haze.

You are one whose footprints have stayed,
I guess it shows the difference our friendship made.
I hope I am being clear
Because confusion is what I fear.

While you are out there,
I want you to know that I’ll always care.
I want you to stay strong,
But know that being scared isn’t wrong.

No matter how far you go
In distance or in mind.
I want you to know
That if you need me, I’ll always be here,
And I’ll never leave you behind.
