as we are eternally bound by love
destined to walk the road of life
as we vow to be forever true
i will hold you close to me

this journey we are taking now
is one that follows no written course
we alone choose the direction we will take
and right or wrong we must see it through
(but no matter what)
i will hold you close to me

i will be there when you need a friend
for above all - that is what we are
i will rock you when you cry
i will cheer you on in the race
i will listen to what you say
and i will hear not only with my ears
but also my heart

i will show you i love you in countless small ways
for it takes *little things* to build a big love

when the dark times come (and)
deep shadows fall across our path
you don't have to be afraid
for i will hold you close to me

my hand will never be far from yours
so reach for me whenever you want to
i am 'here' for you - i am 'there' for you
i am anywhere you need me to be for you

i will stand between you
and the pain
and if i fail to do this
i will share the pain with you
(for as long as it takes)

we are bound to one another
we are Life to each other
held together - but not held back
by the strength of this Love we share

two hearts tied by a simple promise:
i will hold you close to me.....forever.
