In Its Place Poem by Fiona Davidson

In Its Place

The future races ahead of us
The past stretches out behind
All that really matters is now
And the urgency of this moment

Unspoken words still in our throats
Vie with memories that well up
Ifs and buts sit heavy and useless
Can and will seem to float above us

A brave new world is calling us
Echoes try to grab our sleeves
Stretch out your arms blindly
I will guide your steps safely

Hands grasp the here and now
Leave what was alone in its place

This is another beautifully expressed and phrased poem, Fi, and your words in this wonderful write are most deeply touching in virtually every line. Carl.
