From the ocean walkway the surf waves one does hear
Crashing on the beach that in distance is near
To the shady walkway flanked by coastal trees
On a pleasant enough January evening over twenty degrees
In the mostly blue sky just a few clouds of gray
For Warrnambool a typical January day
In the prime of the Summer by the southern sea
On a nice sunny evening such a nice place to be
A cool freshening breeze blowing from Stingray Bay
Earthly Utopia from Warrnambool is never far away
A poet of such beauty a great poem would write
For lovers of poetry to read and recite
The sound of the surf waves on the sandy shore
For to enjoy such beauty i could return for more.
