I’ll see you in my dreams tonight
And in my dreams I’ll hold you tight
Then all the miseries of life
Will vanish on this starlit night
When sleep sets in and rest returns
To a heart were love forever burns

You’re gone and days bring only pain
And skies once blue are filled with rain
They mingle with my sighs and tears
Each time I think of all those years
Spent in the warmth of your caress
That filled our home with happiness

Although you left me so alone
The mem’ries of the joys we’ve known
Grow stronger through the passing days
You’re with me still in many ways
As sleep sets in and rest returns
To this heart were love forever burns

And so I welcome shades of night
That drive away the sun’s harsh light
They set a pathway for the moon
As rustling leaves sing me a tune
And once again I see your face
And hold you in love’s sweet embrace
