In Praise Of A Hurting Heart Poem by Margaret Kollmer

In Praise Of A Hurting Heart

Rating: 5.0

What CAN be said in praise of a hurting heart
When all is pain from being torn apart?
And from whence, poetically, doth come
the gentleness and beauty
of thy feelings from the start?

What CAN be said in praise of a hurting heart
When so unpoetically, Cupid fell apart?
And whyfore so dramatically
did Cherub let loose such pain
from one misguided dart?

And yet, in praise of a hurting heart
I've watched you grow - from the start
Unpoetically with anger
and poetically with grace
Welcome to yon Cherub - he knows your hurting heart.
