In Praise Of The Great Unknown (For Helen) Poem by Dónall Dempsey

In Praise Of The Great Unknown (For Helen)

Rating: 5.0

Oh Helen...I try
to explain why

you always
make me smile.

Is it your naked wit
how it parries cuts & thrursts

or your humour
how it bubbles up

bringing things
to the boil

or like the bubble
in a spirit level

looked through
with fascination

when you were small

maintaining the world
at a steady level

....magic...magical.

A lovely repartee between two wonderful poets. I see here your reply to Helen's 'Oh master of the romantic pen... Ah, my friend, your words of wisdom sit nicely in this heart.' Both witty pieces and poets who i like to read a lot.

Loevly little poem of praise. I love the spirit level image. I too was fascinated by its bubble and would level off clouds and trees and horizons and laughter and thoughts and...anything that existed. love GinaXXX
