In Protective Custody Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

In Protective Custody

In a world of decay,
And accepted decadence.
One almost 'has' to be vicious,
To keep an earned peace of mind...
In protective custody.

It becomes increasingly difficult,
To maintain an addiction free existence.
Especially when one's own trials and tribulations,
Have been faced to confront obstacles...
That do not run in opposite directions.
