In Smiles
And as I break down for the fourth time,
While the tears in my eyes, still shine,
I think to myself that I want to remember you in smiles,
Because the tears will only remind me of the miles.
The fact that I might not be able to see you again,
Strikes me with great pain.
There are memories of this year that I'd kill to keep,
To remember you while I smile, not weep.
Keep them safe till next year,
And check if I still feel the same fear.
And if I smile,
You should know I'm less than a mile.
