In the land of hypocrites
Love is a forbidden word
And lovers are outcast
People think
It’s mere teenage topic
And we’re old enough to talk of it
And some time
Control it
They grew up seeing
Their mother
Loving their father
And father loving his brothers
Brothers loving their sisters
Sisters loving their husbands
Their husbands loving their children
And children reciprocating them
Still they underestimate love
They worship
Love of Radha-Krishna
They appreciate
Love of Shiva-Pārbati
Nala Damayanthi
Shakuntala Dushyanta
But when their daughters love somebody
They restricts them
And burn them alive
When their sons falls for somebody
They questions them
And exile them
As love is a forbidden word in the land of hypocrites.

Moral policing, honour killings, and who knows what? ? Love indeed is a 'taboo' in the land of hypocirtes.. Unfortunately, they outnumber the ones who understand the value of love.. A beautiful poem Bakuli.. Thank you for sharing..
