In The Name Of God. Poem by Brendan McCallum

In The Name Of God.

Rating: 5.0

Knives of glass
stealth from a dusty core,
impaling, en-trailing,
and de-railing lives,

stunned into a momentary silence
the earth shudders,
intruder alarms scream rape
while people, scream,

then a realization,
nightmare becomes reality,
and you
molecule in this waterfall of pain,

children sliced
like fresh fruit
search for parents
who are not there,

while some assist less fortunates,
the dying tend the dead,
others run, not knowing were,
just away,

'the Lord works in mysterious ways'

they say.
