In The Shadow Of Sin Poem by Rick Willetts

In The Shadow Of Sin

In the light of your beauty, I covet thee
Thy neighbor's wife, the sin I bear
The doors of heaven shall open for me
Truths kept in shadows, so unfair

Your breath on my skin I desire so much
A struggle with guilt, a battle within
So exquisite is the feel of your touch
The ice I walk on growing thin

Consumed is my heart in the flames of love
This sinful path, I continue to follow
Emotions soaring to the sky up above
Consumed is my soul in the depths of sorrow

Our eyes so revealing, filled with desire
Growing fears, temptations of lust
Our passion burns like a raging fire
In the shadow of sin, comes the death of trust
