In The Silence Of Lovers Poem by Crystal Rosser

In The Silence Of Lovers

Two pairs of eyes, circling deeply
Into the depths of a flame,
Their eyes wandering
In enlightenment, alluding to intentions.

The way he looks at her, so singularly
Her womb, glowing and feverish
Underneath woven cotton and ivory skin,
Understanding her innermost desire.

Burdened with tension, eloquently intrusive,
His every breath
Moves flame across the way
Heat thrusts against her,
Following her face
Like a shadow.

Does heartbeat know nought of time?
Everything ceases to exist
Two souls turning
Like hands on a clock, twisted
And steady.

A lover sits with a lover here.

In the evening, silence moves
Beyond dim candlelight, surpassing
Physical bliss, caught in a tangible moment
Oh how longing leads to more longing.

And the wick burns down
The flame lowers
And the amber glow fades softly, listening
For the sound of love's whisper, squirming
For his warm touch.

But nothing comes
Nothing translates, slow like honey
He'll take his time, and she'll wait
The intensity, it's there.

The sigh within them, still growing yet
To inhale each others presence is enough
To find each other, in this light,
Is enough.
