In The Wake Of Humanity Poem by Jeph S. Walker

In The Wake Of Humanity

broken color pigment
underneath my fingernail
peach opening up
to spill out a soft shade of pink
gradually getting darker
as the vortex proceeds to grow
splintered fingernails
and riped cuticules
my salvation comes
with the tearing of nerves

i can feel the pulse of my heart
pumping out my fingertips
with the pulse of your heart
that you let me hold
our hearts simotaniously thumping
vibrations working together
to make me feel alive
broken ventricles
and torn arteries
my rebirthing comes
under the wings of a lover

forever cast in the shadow of your grace
such a place befitting my humanity
my life is in your hands
yet you rely on my to keep you alive
and i dont know if i could ever hold that up
multing wings
the fallen feathers
just you and me
stuck in the wake of humanity
naked and shameless
curled in one
twisted completed
forever mine
forever yours
