Inbetweeness-Painful Midlife Blues Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Inbetweeness-Painful Midlife Blues

That in between stage
Where deep restive slumber
Fights it's loosing battle
With wide awake sleepless state

That embarrassing pause
When you have nothing to say
And the slowly moving clock
Digs in its painful claws

That sadly helpless state
When you are deeply in love
But other one is not on same page
So finds hard to reciprocate

The time when seasons change
There is so much to embrace
But memories of your past
Make you taste tears salty taste

That T junction in life
Where choices on either side
Make you cringe with fear
But you hide it with all your pride

I think it's middle age blues
The one that I am talking about to you
Maybe once I cross this bridge
I'll be less hassled
For inbetweeness will no longer fit
