Independence Day

Rating: 4.5

Independence Day (An Affirmation)

Happy birthday America it is your day!
Red white and blue fireworks create a spectacular sky
It is the Fourth of July when we celebrate our nation
The time when we unite in a big family reunion,
Fire up the grills to make the children have a wide grin,
Flags will wave above the parades during the marches
With patriotic tunes and shouts of USA! USA! USA!
As we march on declaring liberty and justice for all!

Our National Day is a carnival like every other day
With everyone pursuing their own diverse interests,
Despite our varied color class creed county and culture
We have an abiding character in an ever changing world,
We are brass kind creative persistence and tough
Because we are Americans we don’t know any better,
In a flash we’ll arise in concert to any common threat
Courageously shed our blood or bear any tribulation.

This Independence Day we will reflect on our Republic
To remind ourselves we are one nation trusting God,
From the inner lands to the uttermost parts of our globe
We are found in the length and breadth of this great land,
Like the dark rich soil that offer brown produce of joy
Red flames that forge wealth from treasures of gold,
Like the driven snow we will be pure and true to our ideals
And bear the stripes of distinction and shine like the stars above.

A well articulated and nicely encapsulated piece of poetry penned in commemoration of American Independence Day, celebrated on 4th of July annually. It's a lovely poem depicting the colourful celebrations and patriotic spirit of Americans as they affirm the motto of their great country: IN GOD WE TRUST. Thanks for sharing.
