Independence day

Freedom of thought, speech and action,
a million prostrations to our Great leaders,
for this benefaction.
To acknowledge the struggle and sacrifice,
the dream and hope they shared for us.
Freedom in thought, discretion in speech
control in action, to maintain
peace and brotherhood.
Smile on the lips, folding of hands
a bow from the head, to greet,
in a typical Indian style.
To be righteous, truthful and courageous,
the true Indian value system,
To be modern, scientific, loved and cared for
the dream of every Indian citizen,
To be happy, peaceful and fearless
the hope of every Indian Home
