Indifference Poem by Shiloh Thompson

Indifference

You broke me.

Something inside of me shattered,
That day you walked away,
Saying everything was my fault,
And that you were innocent.

My soul is as cold as your indifference,
Brushing past each other,
Too many words were said today,
When none ever needed to be.

The harshest feeling is that of reality,
Realizing what you lost,
That it’s everything and nothing at all,
Just a feeling of loneliness.

This empty and hollow feeling inside,
A spirit dampened by hate,
My soul shattered by your cruelty,
And my heart broken again.

If you knew the truth of the matter,
Would it change your mind,
Would it bring you running back,
Should I take that risk?

If you were really worth the effort,
You would still be here,
We would talk, touch and laugh,
But you broke me.

You broke us.
