Influence Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

Influence

Influence

As ever as i am to you,
Kind lady offer a song,

Offer a kiss of mint, in the taste buds,
Offer a silent wish for my safekeeping,

Offer all the gifts that man can desire,
Man conforms, man hold most sacred,

Offer me this kingdom in my unruly sea,
See that each morning shines,

With new sparkles,
And behold new birds flying,

In genesis, in the beginning,
When i was born to be this poor,
In the derilict, this unconcieved status,

That i may one day disappear but never doubt the beauty of it all,

The glory that once had,
The promise that once had,

And i was once, that fraction of a living thing, living under your influence.
