Inner Child Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Inner Child

There's a child
In every person
Who's up early
And explores the universe
While the body still
Can't move to rise
Up from the bed
And eyes unwilling to open.

The child inside
With all enthusiasm
Takes the most complex
Roller coaster ride
The body's just happy
The ride's over quite
Quick before the eyes
Could merely blink.

Inner child jumps
To show excitement
The outer shell bends
Showing wrinkles of age
The pain's felt in joints
Of the weakened bent frame
A glimpse of a twinkle appears
In the eyes for a brief moment.

There is a child within each one of us, so sprightly and agile, so full of curiosity and wonder waiting to leap out from our tired and aged bodies. It is this child within that brings a twinkle into our eyes and gives suppleness to our limbs occasionally! An enjoyable read. For this beautiful write you deserve full marks!

a beautifully written poem full of truth. Sometimes the body has a difficult time time keeping up with the mind.
