Innocence Poem by mithzi silva

Innocence

In a girl’s lifetime
They only get one chance at being innocent
And when I met you,
I didn’t know what I was supposed to do
I thought it was going to be a fun ride
But you turned it into a scary one
Can it be possible that maybe
That maybe I wasn’t ready for such fun baby?
But why not?
Why couldn’t I enjoy a little bit of fun?
Step out of my cocoon
And became a butterfly?
Maybe it wasn’t the right time
Maybe I wasn’t ready to fly
But why not?
Could it be my innocence?
My little girl innocence was not ready to leave home
And stay with a stranger?
You took my innocence away
But now I wonder…
Was it really worth the pain?
