Innocent Poem by Clara Keiper

Innocent

Rating: 4.8

We've walked too far down this road
to say we're innocent
Your married so am I
So we're not innocent.

By day we're only friends
but at night we don't pretend
Swearing till the end
that we're innocent

The other day my wife
asked me about you
I told her were just friends
I could live without you

I don't want her to cry
So I really want to try
I don't want to have to lie
when I say I'm innocent

At least, the intent seems to be innocent. Nice poem.
