Insomnia Poem by Wendy Bureau

Insomnia

Rating: 3.5

Lying awake, insomnia
Darkness engulfs the room
Eyes, unable to focus
Isolation, mind games, dooms

If you listen real close
Silence seems to sing
A melody of terror
Don't blink, eyes sting

Sanctuary of solitude
Open invite, can you resist?
Compelling and controlling
A game of life, a deadly twist

Unpredictable outcomes
Enter at your own risk
Bring along a playmate
Hand in hand, white knuckled fists

Dare to explore beyond
The darkness of the night
Join me fellow insomniacs
Sound sleepers, we bid goodnight

I agree with the previous comment and really impressed with a special 'exciting' pathos of your poem. Me insomniac can relate, too :)
