Insomnia And Dreams Poem by Rachael Flint

Insomnia And Dreams

I often find when I can't sleep,
My brain is alert. I sit and think.
Distant places, events impossible,
People who are new,
Strangers that are familiar.
My nights is a fictional reality.
Still sleep is far away,
I colour in the grey.
Fantastic scenes unfold,
Stories waiting to be told.
As the dawn arrives,
I think of the million lives
That I lived in one night.
