Inspiration Fading Poem by David Thomas

Inspiration Fading

You told me i couldn't have missed you,
it had only been a day or two
but i challenged you my dear friend,
i said i don't know about you but,
i miss those who make me smile when they're
not around.
well here i am,
and you are nowhere to be found
The greatest source of inspiration i've ever felt,
gone.
the worst part is knowing i'm always the one to leave
that you're always right there sitting,
when i turn and walk away.

When i feel in doubt in plight in mixed up magic
or as if i may be in a fight,
that look in your eyes that you cannot deny,
that is what i picture and that is what makes me fly.
though you'll never read this poem
or realize why i care,
i hope to make it one day obvious
that you won't even have to stare.
